Lagos records 255 new COVID-19 infections, highest since Aug 22


Nigeria has recorded 300 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 64,090.

The NCDC said the country’s coronavirus epicenter, Lagos State, reported 255 new cases, its highest number of single-day infections since August 22.

According to the agency, the fresh cases are coming, after the country witnessed low number of infections across after some weeks.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported 27 infections trailed by Oyo at 10 and Kaduna with five cases. Ondo recorded two cases while Kano had one infection.

NCDC also announced the discharge of 26 patients from isolation centres across the country.

The organization gave the update on its official Twitter account on Sunday, saying till date, 64,090 infections have been confirmed, 59,910 discharged and 1,154 deaths recorded in 36 states and Federal Capital Territory(FCT).
